Ships reopen

23.06.2021

The incidence is dropping, summer is taking off and with it more life is returning to the museum harbor of the German Maritime Museum / Leibniz Institute of Maritime History. From Friday, June 25, the harbor tug STIER, the whaler RAU IX and the deep-sea salvage tug SEEFALKE can be visited again. The latter can be found for the first time this year at the former berth of the SEUTE DEERN.

Welcome back on board: The German Maritime Museum team is very pleased to be able to start the season again in the museum harbor after the long Corona break. The SEEFALKE, STIER and RAU IX can be visited daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. starting June 25. The entrance fee is one euro per ship. Pre-registration is not necessary, but hygiene and distance rules apply on board to protect against infection. Those who visit the port can also get an idea of the restoration progress on the RAU IX. Together with the workshop crew of the German Maritime Museum, the Task Force Maritime of the Bremerhavener Beschäftigungsgesellschaft Unterweser (BBU) has been working intensively on the old whaler in recent months and will soon be taking care of the lightship ELBE III.
