Franziska Schild, M.A.
„I enjoy working in a place where research and communication come together: audience research tells me what moves people and how our offerings are perceived, allowing us to tailor educational formats specifically to their expectations. The sea as a physical and symbolic boundary is a constant source of inspiration for me, because it challenges us as human beings on both an emotional and scientific level. It is a place where technology meets nature, where longing and knowledge merge.“
Franziska Schild, M.A., Research assistant, Deputy Head of Education & Outreach
About the person
Franziska Schild studied history, religious studies/education, and museum and exhibition management. Since 2025, she has been working as a research assistant with a focus on audience research at the German Maritime Museum and is deputy head of the Education and Outreach department. She attaches particular importance to participatory and inclusive approaches that address current social issues and focus on the diverse needs of different target groups.
Even before joining the DSM, Franziska Schild gained a wealth of experience in museum work – from the conception and implementation of exhibition projects to the development and realisation of digital and analogue educational programmes. Through the use of (innovative) visitor research, she makes a targeted contribution to increasing visitor satisfaction and building a lasting connection between the museum and its audience.
