About the person

Jacqueline Malchow is a historian, cultural scientist, and provenance researcher. Her research interests span the exchange of ideas and cultures of different nations via trade connections, the history of marginalized groups, interdisciplinary research, as well es the publication and processing of historical data through digital methods.

At the DSM since 2023, she has been researching the cultural property that was unlawfully seized from individuals during the Nazi regime and ist „utilisation“ in Hamburg from 1939 until 1943. She works in cooperation with several archives, museums, and research institutes in Hamburg. The project team has developed the LostLift database on the topic, in which researched information can be viewed directly: https://lostlift.dsm.museum.
