Our work at the German Maritime Museum in Bremerhaven is supported by civic engagement. The very founding of the German Maritime Museum was provided with a great boost by the Förderverein Deutsches Schiffahrtsmuseum e.V. and the Kuratorium zur Förderung des Deutschen Schiffahrtsmuseums e.V. (Board of Trustees). The chairpersons of the Förderverein and the Kuratorium are still members of the Foundation Council as well as of the "Bauliche Neugestaltung" (constructional re-design) steering group of the German Maritime Museum.
The Verein Technikmuseum U-Boot WILHELM BAUER e.V. founded in 1984 also supports our museum. The association operates a technological museum inside the hull of the U 2540 submarine that is moored in the museum harbour. The SEUTE DEERN initiative group founded in 2015 advises the German Maritime Museum with regard to the preservation of the SEUTE DEERN, the unique restaurant ship in the museum harbour.
We warmly thank all those who have dedicated themselves to our museum in this or in other ways, and invite all others to participate and become a part of the community. Please feel free to contact us or one of the associations below.
