The KOGGE

-

The centrepiece of our museum is the Bremer KOGGE from 1380. It was found in a spectacular way, restored for a long time and now stands freely in the collection. The wreck remains an object of research that science inspects closely. Be close too and explore the best-preserved merchant ship of the Middle Ages and the permanent exhibition from home under "Google Arts and Culture".

KOGGE met PLAYMOBIL

-

Our exhibition "KOGGE meets PLAYMOBIL - The story of a ship retold" may be history, but thanks to the web special, the colourful figures and memories of the show are just a click away. To the web special.

360° POLARSTERN

-

Would you like to experience research shipping up close, look over the shoulders of the researchers and take a look in the galley of the POLARSTERN? Then come on board. The 360° POLARSTERN exhibition makes all levels of the icebreaker visible, which set off in 2019 on the most important Arctic expedition of all time. You can find the 360-degree videos from the exhibition on our museum's YouTube channel.

POLARSTERN-App

-

Be on board the POLARSTERN once and discover the research ship to the centimetre - you don't have to be part of the research team for that, you just need a mobile phone and an urge to explore. Thanks to the POLARSTERN app, the icebreaker can be viewed in detail as a 3D model from the bridge to the engine room. The app can be downloaded from the Playstore and Appstore.

Learning opportunities for kids

-

Learning does not only happen at the school desk. The DSM sees itself as an extracurricular place of learning: children and young people of all ages are welcome to research, try out and experience with us - analogue or virtual. Those who want to learn from their sofa can use our digital homeschooling offers. They can be discovered here.

_

Research at home

-

Tinkering, investigating and understanding the environment in a playful way - that's what our experiments are all about. Curious people will learn amazing things about climate change and geological processes from the short films. And they take away ideas on how to repeat the experiment at home. About the experiments.

Virtual to DSM Treasures

-

Take a maritime break and tune into the museum for a mini guided tour. A different treasure from the collection is regularly in the spotlight in a short film format. Go to the short tours.

Digital card table

-

Discover the exhibition "KARTEN WISSEN MEER - Globalisierung vom Wasser aus", for example during a digital guided tour, at the virtual map table while creating your own nautical map or while listening to the sound experience in which adventures of world-famous literary figures are recited. To the web special.
