Cog meets Playmobil. A ship tells (his)story
Special exhibition / PLAYMOBIL collection Oliver Schaffer
The discovery of the "Bremen Cog" in 1962 in the Weser was a sensation. Today the DSM presents the world's best preserved medieval merchant ship in a modern exhibition. The PLAYMOBIL collector Oliver Schaffer takes up the (his)story of the cog: In large display landscapes he presents with his figures how the cog was built, what goods were transported and how the wreck was converted in the DSM after it was found. An extensive accompanying programme complements the special exhibition.
For group events that can be booked, please register as usual up to 14 days before the event. You will find all public events in our calendar.
We ask you to register or make reservations in advance via our visitor service at buchung@dsm.museum or T 0471 482 07 844

Set the sails! PLAYMOBIL forward!
Celebrate family reunions in a different way? Whether it's a child's birthday party, school enrolment or a visit to the grandparents: Why not make a day out at the museum?
Just like in "Gulliver's Travels" we look as giants at the Playmobil worlds around the cog. Equipped with homemade binoculars, we watch the little shipbuilders and sailors at work. In addition to what we see, there are small play tasks for the families that require imagination and skill.
As we work with glue and paint, please wear suitable clothing.
For families with children under 12 years
90 minutes / max. ten persons / 65 € incl. admission
